Sandra Rutter is an artist based in the North East of England.
Predominantly working in oils, her paintings have a subtle suggestion of seascape or landscape and are conveyed through her use of intense colour, layers and texture.
With an intuitive approach to colour and composition, Sandra works responsively to the paint, building layers, colour and texture until she captures a painting which evokes a response from the viewer; whether through colour, composition, memory, spirituality or contemplation. Simultaneously, most of her work is stripped of any identity, leaving it elusive and open to personal interpretation.
